This is a creative celebration of your body and movement. Come explore self-discovery and openness. Each person is both the student and the subject and the goal is to discover the ease that lies at the root of transformation.

Andréa Pallotto : Self Hug – First Attempts in Caring for Yourself : an Introductory Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement class.
This lesson is bridging art and care into one beautiful lesson. With arms wrapped around the self in a kind of hug, participants are encouraged to feel through the movement in a way that encourages them to really take care of themselves. Participants are encouraged to do the smallest movements possible, and to use play, pleasure and ease to find efficiency in movement and growth.
Sunday, july 25th @ 4:30 pm

Pleasure is our birthright. Relearning and reclaiming this is inherently radical under systems that strive to keep us estranged from it. Our social intersections and power dynamics impact our access to embodied agency. The systems we live in influence our beliefs about our bodies and how we relate to each other. In this event I’ll be providing practical tools to playfully challenge these beliefs by working with our soma as well as our neuroception of safety.

What can you gain from these somatic classes?
Creativity and Curiosity
These classes aren’t the least bit boring! They are built uniquely for each person’s individual body/mind. Placing the importance on how you feel rather than what you’re supposed to feel (what somatic therapy is all about) allows you to open yourself up to curiosity and creativity. Instead of trying to achieve a standard, you get to notice what you actually do and make a decision about what you want to do. If you allow yourself that process, you find that you develop more curiosity about yourself and the world and you find yourself more creative about what you can do!
Incredible Independence
These somatic classes are built to teach you – not to fix you. The quote “ you give a man a fish, he eats for a day, you teach a man to fish, he eats for life,” is very applicable here! These lessons teach you how to feel what you are doing, so the next time you get hurt, you know how to get better. How incredibly independent is that! And the more classes you do, the more you know how to do it by yourself!
Ease, comfort, healing
The best part about doing somatic classes is how you feel afterwards! Because these lessons are built upon foundational human movements, once you’ve understood the movement (no matter how small!) you feel the release of muscles that were working harder than they needed to, your whole body participates in moving yourself, and bigger muscles take on more work than small muscles; like the muscles of the pelvis! The end of lessons allow you to take account of all the changes you feel. The incredible part is that your brain records this for the future! And voila, you start to move with so much ease and feel so good doing it.
